What an amazing idea, and quite unique - One of our Brides has arranged to make her future husband the wedding ring itself. Keeping with the eco-friendly theme our Bride has arranged with Robins and Moore Goldsmiths in Plymouth to melt down the gold herself and style the ring in their workshop. Happy Easter Everyone
What a wonderful Easter weekend we have had. Thank you to all the couples and their family and friends who came to visit us on Good Friday and Easter Monday. With jam, cream and scones, easter eggs and bucks fizz and of course glorious sunshine everyone really enjoyed themselves. It was a pleasure to meet so many people and hope that we can help them with their wedding plans.
Thank you to all our suppliers which came along. Janine Hall Photography, Tony from Marquee Bars, Rachel from Belles Brides, Richard from Couch's Kitchen.
We are busy again on the Royal Wedding Day 29th April, but would love to welcome anyone who would like to come along.

Sun Sun and more Sun!!
What a wonderful week of sunshine we have had at the Fort. The sky and sea has been a beutiful blue and really feels like the start of summer. The daffodils and primroses are looking beautiful and the lawns have all been trimmed. Pimms in the garden I think!!

Open Day
We had a wonderful day meeting some lovely couples and their families. Thank you so much to everyone who came and joined in the fun. The sun shone for us and we really enjoyed Tony's champagne cocktails (Marquee Bars) . The chair covers supplied by Sitting Pretty looked stunning on the chairs. Janine Hall from Janine Hall photography was her normal wonderful self and helped greet all our visitors and provided a wonderful stand showing her stunning photographs. Lucy and Sarah from Round Kitchen Catering put on a lovely stand showing all their wonderful creations. Ruth Andrew ( our most popular florist) provided a beautiful table decoration. James (from our maintenance team) provided lovely home cooked chocolate cookies, is there no end to his talent? Ruth, James, John and Kathy enjoyed meeting you all and hope we can provide you with the venue for your perfect day.

What a beautiful week we have had at the Fort. The sun has been out all week and we have all been enjoying blue skies and blue sea. Saturday 22nd viewing day is proving very popular. We have also invited some of our recommended suppliers to attend, so you can meet them also. We are very much looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday and don't forget to bring your cameras!!

Snow and the big freeze!!
Not to cold for our wedding guests to still have their barbeque on the lawns. Beautiful snowy fields and crisp sunny air, what more could you want at this time of year.

Norman Wisdom Passed Away
So sad to hear about the legendary old trooper who was once a guest here. I remember standing on the drawbridge with a photographer from Hello magazine during a celebrity wedding at the Fort, seeing Norman tottering down the steps, and remarking that here at last was a celebrity I recognised (I should watch more television, no doubt). May he RIP. John

Roof repairs begin on 13th Century Rame Church
Work has begun to repair a Cornish church used by seafarers Nelson and Drake as a navigational aid. Rame Church has been used by many of our couples for a marriage ceremony or blessing prior to having their reception at the Fort.
The appeal to raise funds for the Church of St Germanus at Rame has reached £100,000 in less than a year. Workmen are replacing the Cornish Delabole slates on the Grade I listed building's roof which have been affected by nail rot.
The 13th Century church, which was consecrated 751 years ago, has no running water, gas or electricity, and is lit by candles. There is a proper organ loft and organ, which has to be pumped by hand.

Drawn to the Valley Open Studios
Local artists from the Tamar valley and surrounding areas open their studios to the public for a week. Teresa Wicksteed, joint owner of the Fort, whose original paintings are in the Fort (and are for sale) is opening her studio to the public as part of this event. www.teresawicksteed.com
