GREEN WEDDINGS

As with most companies now we are trying to encourage people to think about the environment. This is not hard to think about as the Fort is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and we try to keep it this way.

At the Fort we are trying to do our bit by:

• Recycling all the empty bottles (believe us there are a lot of bottles after most of our weddings)
• Providing recycling bins for paper and cardboard left over from all the presents.
• Recycling metal and tins left behind
• Only printing emails when necessary.
• Recycling our office paper
• Switching off unnecessary lights and co mputers
• Supporting local suppliers which use local produce.
• Preventing noise pollution by encouraging acoustic musicians and keeping music inside the fort.
• Using local contractors to maintain the Fort.
• Our cleaning staff car sharing to travel to the Fort.
• Kathy working from home when possible to alleviate unnecessary car journeys (Kathy needs to travel from Plymouth)
• Encouraging wild flowers around the Fort.
• Promoting environmental friendly suppliers like 'Green Photographic' Website
• Why not use bird seed instead of confetti?
• We do not allow sky lanterns as they would leave debris in our beautiful area
