TESTIMONIALS [1]Dear John and Teresa, Wedding 6th June 2006 I wanted to write and thank you for our wonderful time at Polhawn Fort in June. I can’t begin to tell you how successful it all was. I am sure you hear this all the time but really, it could not have gone better nor been more successful. It was everything I hoped that my wedding would be. Many guests have used the work ‘magical’ in their letters of thanks and best wishes. The location is absolutely beautiful, what a spot, we have some fantastic photographs which I will send by email to Kathy. The Fort and the grounds are amazing. I didn’t want to leave. Many of our guests already intend to return to the area for further holidays this year and one or two want to permanently move to Kingsand! I must admit I was extremely lucky with the weather – probably the nicest week this year and the flowers and plants all at their most lush (that wall of wild flowers – wow) The bedrooms are lovely, the kitchen facilities fantastic – we were all falling over ourselves to cook! The way that you pretty much left us to our own devices, but were there to help if needed, was fantastic it gave us an unusual sense of freedom to do as we pleased. Jim (what a nice chap) looked after us so well and so quietly with Fred and him coming like fairies in the night to sort all the mess out and Kathy was extremely helpful although I didn’t get to meet her. I can’t thank enough all the people that I booked through your recommendations. Jo and Jan from Greenfare – the food was superb and their waiting staff fantastic. I spent a lot of time with Jo on the telephone prior to the big day itself. Ruth provided wonderful flowers and again I missed meeting her but they were truly lovely. Stephen Michael at the village store – what a sweetheart, he delivered a lengthy list of supplies to us and his homemade burgers and sausages were superb. The registrar, Kristin Arundel, provided a beautiful service. We can’t believe our luck with everything. We had a beautiful wedding day and we held a games day on the second day for all our guests which was also really great fun – it had a feel of holding a real Victorian summer house party (at our little place in the country!) We would highly recommend anyone to book Polhawn Fort for their special day. Our friends are already trying to persuade us to hold an anniversary party there next year. I think I’ve thanked everyone. My words seem a bit hollow, as I said at the beginning of my letter – it is hard to put into words what a wonderful 4 days we had that week. The funny thing is, I think most people come to weddings out of a sense of duty and not necessarily thinking that they are gong to have that good a time – and that includes the groom! But my groom and our guests all did have that good a time and better. Thank you again and don’t change anything I really hope that we can come back day.
