FAQ's - VIEWING THE FORTWhen can we come to see the fort? You can come virtually any Friday and Monday, generally between 10.00am and 3.00pm as these times are on our changeover days. It helps us and you if you make an appointment (tel: 01752-822864), as you can expect that we’ll have stuff ready for you to look at (photos, table-plans etc). It’s worth saying though, that people often get delayed, or arrive out of turn, and though we are perfectly relaxed about this, it can mean that you may have to wait while someone else is talking with one or other of us (on the other hand, you are welcome to look around yourselves while waiting). Weekend visits unfortunately, are out of the question as the Fort is let to groups to have it to themselves, and we haven’t had an empty weekend for about nine or ten years. Mid-week days are also not worth thinking about, as we’ve not had an empty period for two to three years. It’s important to realize that the Fort is usually in a bit of a mess for an hour or so after 10.00am as all the beds are stripped in order to be re-made with fresh linen. A good time is about 12.00 noon onwards. The cleaners generally finish at about 1.30pm and everything from then on is just as we provide it to our customers. How often can we come before/after we’ve booked? As often as you like - no
problem. It helps though, if we know you’re coming, even if you
feel you don’t need to specifically speak to anyone here. You
are also welcome to come back at any time after your booking - if you
want to show someone who didn’t make it to your wedding for example
- or you’re on holiday in the area, and so on. We are always glad
to see you again. |
