WHAT’S INCLUDED IN OUR PRICE

Exclusive use of Polhawn Fort

The surrounding gardens, summerhouse, all weather tennis court, private path to the beach, car park for approximately 35 cars for the duration of your stay (our driveway is about half a mile long & can also be lined with cars if needed for the day of your reception).

Accommodation for 20 people

All rooms have sea views, top of the range Vi-Spring beds that are ready made up, and plenty of soft white fluffy towels, Cots and extra mattresses for children and young adults are also supplied and room layouts are pretty flexible too!

Banqueting equipment to cater for up to 120 people 

Including a full range of crockery, cutlery, glassware, banqueting chairs and a choice of circular &/or rectangular tables. Table linen & chair covers/sashes can be ordered separately to match.

Use of our fully equipped commercial kitchen and utility room

You can hire one of our listed caterers (see useful info), choose your own, or arrange all the food yourself – it’s up to you!

No corkage charges!

You can supply your own choice of top quality wines/drinks for you and your guests with no extra charges! A pay bar option is also available if you’d prefer.

Entertainment and Extras

Professional disco sound and lights system (for mp3 player, laptop or iPod/Pad/Phone), logs for the open fire, croquet set, tennis racquets/balls, barbeque equipment and not forgetting……

Panoramic sea views!

VAT at 20% PLEASE NOTE: if the rate of VAT changes (up or down) prices for new bookings and any unpaid monies, e.g. final payments of confirmed bookings, will change accordingly.

Timing

Midweek wedding breaks: Monday 4 pm – Friday 10 am
Weekend Wedding breaks: Friday 4 pm – Monday 10 am

Sleeping arrangements (all bedrooms face the sea)
2 en-suite master bedrooms with four poster beds (most popular for bridal suite)
4 en-suite family rooms
2 single rooms (sharing a separate bathroom)

Our beds can be juggled around to make the ideal combination for your guests, additional cots, linen and even mattresses for children are also available. Beds are top-of-the range luxury Vi-Spring beds with double pocketed spring mattresses. We can sleep up to twenty adults.

Catering
Your choice! You can organise all your own catering or we can recommend a range of local caterers who will also be happy to help you plan the menus and give you quotes. The style of catering is entirely up to you: a formal banquet, informal buffet, barbeque, hog roast etc. You can have your reception in the Fort itself, outside in the garden or in a marquee. We are limited to seating up to 120 people.

Temperature Controls
The Fort has full central heating with individually controlled radiators; there is a large open fire and logs are supplied for cosy winter evenings. There is air conditioning in the Grand Hall.

Drinks
Although the Fort has a full entertainments and drinks licence, we have never charged corkage. This means you (and your guests) can supply lovely wines and other drinks purchased from wherever you wish, at the least possible cost: a tremendous saving! A pay bar can easily be arranged if required.

Music
The Fort has 8ft thick walls: you can have a disco (with equipment supplied by ourselves or others) and/or bands inside the Fort. Outside it is different: because we are in an area of great peace and tranquillity our licence does not allow us to permit amplified music or instruments (ie requiring electricity) outside. A number of acoustic instruments (non-electrical) are permitted and we love to hear these: please ask us for suggestions.

Viewings
Virtually on any Friday or Monday between 1 pm and 3 pm. The cleaners generally finish at about 1.30 pm and everything from then on is just as we provide it to our customers. Please ring us to make an appointment.
